Terms of Service

1. Acceptance and eligibility

By creating an account, using RD Study Lab, or purchasing access, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use or purchase the service. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract in your jurisdiction.

2. Accounts and authorized use

You are responsible for accurate account information, protecting your sign-in credentials, and activity under your account. Access is personal to you and may not be sold, transferred, shared, or used to give another person access to paid content.

3. The product and your licence

RD Study Lab grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the study product and content included in the plan shown at checkout. You do not acquire ownership of the platform, question bank, explanations, software, or other content.

A one-time purchase has no recurring subscription fee and no fixed expiration based on time or the number of exam attempts. You can keep using it for as long as you need to prepare for and pass the exam, while RD Study Lab remains in operation, subject to these Terms. It is not a promise that every feature, question, or third-party integration will remain unchanged or available indefinitely.

4. Price, payment, and contract record

Stripe processes payments. The plan, included features, total price, currency, taxes, and applicable fees are shown before you authorize payment. A completed checkout and the resulting electronic receipt form part of the purchase record.

At checkout, we record the offer and policy versions you accept, the acceptance time, and limited technical and payment evidence described in our Privacy Policy. Stripe separately records acceptance of the required Terms checkbox.

5. Digital delivery and access

Paid access is normally granted to the purchasing account immediately after Stripe confirms successful payment. Delivery occurs when the paid features are enabled for that account. You should contact support promptly if payment succeeds but access is not enabled or the product is materially unavailable.

6. Refunds and statutory rights

Purchases are governed by the Refund Policy presented at checkout. Nothing in these Terms or the Refund Policy limits a refund, cancellation, reversal, or other remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer-protection law.

7. Payment disputes and fraud prevention

If you do not recognize a charge, believe you were billed incorrectly, or did not receive access, contact support so we can investigate. Contacting us first is encouraged but does not remove any right you have to contact your card issuer or exercise a statutory remedy.

We may use and disclose minimized checkout, authorization, account, delivery, access, and product-usage records to investigate suspected fraud, respond to refunds or payment disputes, establish delivery and use, enforce these Terms, and comply with law, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual property and prohibited conduct

You may not:

• copy, scrape, publish, sell, redistribute, or create a competing dataset or product from RD Study Lab content;
• share paid content or account access with another person, except where we expressly permit it;
• circumvent access, device, security, or usage controls; reverse engineer the service; or attempt unauthorized access;
• use the service unlawfully or interfere with its operation or another user.

9. Suspension and termination

We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect the service or users, investigate suspected fraud or account sharing, address a security risk, or respond to a material breach of these Terms. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue. We may terminate access for a serious or repeated material breach. These remedies do not limit rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Educational purpose and no exam guarantee

RD Study Lab provides educational study support only. It does not provide medical, legal, or professional advice and does not guarantee an exam result, credential, employment outcome, or that every topic appearing on an examination will be covered. You remain responsible for verifying current exam and professional requirements.

11. Independence and non-endorsement

RD Study Lab is an independent product and business. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, approved by, or endorsed by the Canadian Dietetic Registration Examination, any owner, sponsor, or administrator of that exam, the Canadian Dietetic Alliance, Dietitians of Alberta, or any regulator, credentialing body, professional association, college, or university. References to those organizations are descriptive only.

12. Availability and changes

We may maintain, improve, replace, or discontinue features and content. We will not intentionally remove the core paid product without considering reasonable notice, continuity, or another appropriate remedy, subject to circumstances outside our reasonable control and applicable law.

13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided on an as-available basis without warranties beyond those expressly stated. RD Study Lab is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or a warranty, condition, remedy, or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada, without depriving you of mandatory protections that apply where you live. Disputes may be brought before a court or tribunal with lawful jurisdiction. These Terms do not require mandatory arbitration or waive a right to participate in a proceeding where such a waiver is prohibited.

15. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information, including purchase, delivery, security, and payment-dispute evidence.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service changes. The version accepted for a completed purchase remains identified in our purchase record. We will post changes with a new effective date. For a material change that affects existing users, we will also provide reasonable notice by email or in the product before it takes effect and will obtain consent where applicable law requires it. Continued use alone does not replace any consent required by law. A change may take effect sooner when required by law or reasonably necessary for security or service integrity.
